Abstract

Amid the ongoing digital transformation, the adoption of digital healthcare technologies has emerged as a fundamental force in reshaping healthcare services and elevating patient outcomes. This study delves into the adoption of digital healthcare technologies among academic professionals in South India, utilizing the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) framework. Conducted through a comprehensive survey involving 693 academic professionals using digital healthcare applications on smartphones across Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, and Kerala, the research unravels the principal determinants of technology adoption in the healthcare domain. This research significantly contributes to a profound comprehension of technology adoption in healthcare contexts, offering invaluable insights for healthcare providers, policymakers, and technology developers keen on enhancing the adoption of digital healthcare solutions.
