Abstract
It is shown in this investigation that by forcing heated air through the material, tufted carpet can be dried in approximately one-fifth the time required in present industrial dryers. An experimental study showed that the variables which influence the pressure drop across the carpets tested can be correlated with two dimension-less groups. This correlation can then be used to predict the drying time for the constant-rate period.
