Abstract

The analysis of compliance with the requirements of clinical recommendations for modeling root pin inlays was carried out using X-ray evaluation of the teeth of the upper and lower jaws, as well as by analyzing the conclusions of forensic medical examinations for 2013-2022 in cases related to the poor-quality manufacture of this type of prostheses. In the course of the study, it was determined that in 8.8% of litigation claims for fixed orthopedic structures, they are associated with complaints about the quality of workmanship of root pin tabs and the percentage of these claims has not decreased over 10 years. At the same time, it was determined that errors and complications when using root pin tabs in 50% of cases are due to improper implementation of techniques by dentists, and not to poor quality materials and imperfect treatment methods. X-ray assessment of the quality of modeling root pin inlays by dentists in practice showed an extremely low percentage of compliance with the requirements of clinical recommendations. The correct residual wall thickness of the root canals was determined only in 36.25% of cases; high-quality endodontic preparation of tooth canals - in 40.0% of cases; the recommended ratio of the length of the pin part of the insert, which is 2/3 of the length of the root, was determined only in 1.25% of cases; In none of the cases studied, the requirement for compliance with the ratio of the height of the crown part of the restored tooth to the length of the pin part of the inlays as 1:2 or 1:3.
