Abstract
Abstract. A 15-channel airborne sun tracking photometer has been developed. The instrument provides aerosol optical depths over a wide spectral range (0.34–2.25 μm) with an accuracy of ΔAOD from 0.005 to 0.01. Doing measurements at different altitudes allow us to derive the aerosol extinction vertical profile. Thanks to the wide spectral range of the instrument, information on the aerosol size distribution along the vertical is also available.
