Abstract Background: Major Depressive Disorder affects millions of people globally, causing significant impacts on individuals' health and functionality. Given the difficulty of treatment adherence due to adverse effects, and considering the growing adoption of technologies, the Self-Management-in-Mental Health project emerged. This project aims to promote patient autonomy through the development of a self-management support app for Major Depressive Disorder, providing evidence-based therapeutic guidance.

Among the therapeutic guidelines identified, mapped and categorized, the following stood out: adoption of healthy habits (53.25%), integrative and complementary practices (52.11%), psychotherapy (30.99%), consultation with a health professional (21.13%), relaxation techniques (16.09%), pharmacological therapy (14.01%), leisure/pleasurable activities (9.86%).
