A type of systematic fold made from the fragile medium of paper could be translated to something wearable and durable in fashion is certainly attractive and innovative. Its special characteristic to make three-dimensional shapes from two-dimensional patterns is very fascinating and interesting to make. Fabric waste is the big problem of today and fabric manipulation through systematic folding is the best way to use it. The paper reveals the potential of the fabrics, which could be manipulated using fabric origami and processes of innovative designs for developing fashion product. The study also emphasizes on the reasons why origami was not seen much in the designer’s collection through SWOT analysis.
