Abstract
The processes of obtaining wear-resistant coatings during electrospark alloying of steel 40 followed by high-frequency boronizing under a charge layer based on boron carbide with aluminide additives are considered. The thickness of the coatings reaches 600-1000 microns, the surfacing time is 1-2 minutes. The results of metallographic studies are presented, as well as tests for enduring quality under abrasive wear conditions of specimens made of steel 40 with and without hardening coatings.
