Current strategies for treating drug-resistant tuberculosis have limited efficacy and undesirable side effects; hence, research on new treatments, including innovative medications, is required. Host-directed therapy (HDT) has emerged as a viable strategy for modulating host cell responses in order to enhance protective immunity against infections.
