Abstract
Nel percorso formativo del prof. Canestrari particolare rilevanza ha avuto la componente fisiologica che gli ha consentito più di ogni altra l'acquisizione del metodo sperimentale. Nel presente contributo si ricostruisce il profilo storico del rapporto tra Psicologia e Fisiologia fino agli sviluppi più recenti. Particolare risalto viene dato alla componente psicologico-clinica che è stata determinante nella sua attività accademica e istituzionale pubblica.
