Abstract
Two species of Apera have been discovered in Ontario. Keys and illustrations are provided distinguishing the species from one another and from other Ontario grasses. Attention is drawn to the potential weed hazard in Ontario of one of them, A. spica-venti (loose silky-bent), an important weed of winter cereals in central and eastern Europe.
