Abstract

Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy, the administration of pure oxygen at a pressure greater than the pressure of atmospheric oxygen, is a promising treatment for a range of neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer's disease and comatose states. The research exploring the use of HBO therapy for neurological conditions is extremily exciting, and in this article, Sarah Palmer presents some key studies, demonstrating their findings and highlighting just how promising this potential therapy is.
