Abstract

Bactericidal nanopillar array surfaces of FeOOH and Fe₂O₃ have been prepared as a cicada wing mimic. An even simpler structure-based antimicrobial surface was also made by coating with sea urchin-like FeOOH and Fe₂O₃ particles with a binder.
