Abstract
AbstractAlthough 2‐amino‐4‐hydroxy‐benzoic acid is one of the compounds to be expected as a result of the reaction of carbon dioxide with m.amino‐phenol and potassium bicarbonate in the presence of water, the only monobasic reaction product that could be identified by several authors was 4‐amino‐2‐hydroxy‐benzoic acid. The presence of small quantities of 2‐amino‐4‐hydroxy‐benzoic acid could, however, be demonstrated by the present authors.
