Microwave‐Assisted Synthesis of 2‐Aryl‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydrobenzo[4,5]thieno[2,3‐d]pyrimidinones

Abstract

AbstractHerein, a protocol for the synthesis of 2‐aryl‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydrobenzo[4,5]thieno[2,3‐d]pyrimidinones is presented in two‐step. The precursor is prepared from inexpensive and readily available starting materials in high yield. Then, the desired products have been prepared using both conventional and microwave irradiation methods in presence of HCl as catalyst. It resulted that the microwave irradiation gave very lower reaction time and higher yields compared to the conventional method.
