Abstract
AbstractIridium(I) complexes with phosphorus(III) ligands possessing naturally occurring menthol unit(s) [IrCl(COD){PPhn(OMenth)3‐n}], n=0,1,2 (C1‐C3) were synthesized and fully characterized by 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, FT‐IR spectroscopic techniques and elemental and X‐ray diffraction analysis. C1‐C3 were successfully applied in the hydrosilylation of several carbonyl compounds: aldehydes, ketones, esters, enals, and ynals. They exhibited very good activity and high tolerance to various functional groups providing silyl ethers with excellent yields. Subsequently, hydrolysis of the obtained product was carried out, furnishing us with diverse alcohols and aldehydes as attractive compounds in organic synthesis.
