Abstract

AbstractReceptor‐type protein tyrosine phosphatases (RPTPs), Class I protein tyrosine phosphatases, are involved in human tumor cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion through reversible phosphorylation of tyrosine residues. This review summarizes the expression and role of RPTPs in cancer and illustrates the signaling pathway mechanisms of effecting oncogenesis, tumor progression, prognosis, and angiogenesis, so as to provide more effective targets for gene therapy of related cancers.
