Abstract
Defined broadly, globalization refers to the increase in the movement of financial goods, products, labor, people, and ideas across national boundaries. Although theorists disagree about its origin and its significance in contemporary society, most agree that globalization involves the increased interconnectedness of individuals, capital, and materials. It has been made possible by technological advancements in communication and travel. Sexuality refers to sexual practices, acts, and desires and the meanings associated with them. Sociologists recognize sexuality as socially constructed, and emphasize that a person's social location (e.g., gender identity, class) shapes their perceptions and interactions.
