Oncologists’ role in end‐of‐life chemotherapy and patient‐centered care

Abstract

George et al. show that patients have a 4‐ to 8‐fold variation in whether they receive systemic therapy at the end of life that is attributable to their oncologist. This editorial discusses how interventions around goals of care and nudging oncologists’ behavior may ensure care is centered around patient preferences.
