Synthesis and Pharmacological Properties of Some Derivatives of p-Aminophenylethanolamine

Abstract

Abstract Synthesis of a series of N-alkyl derivatives of 2-amino-1-p-aminophenyl-ethanolamine has been described, and the results of pharmacological screening reported. The antagonistic action exhibited at the adrenergic β-receptors by the p-nitro- and p-amino-N-isopropyl derivatives and the outstanding spasmolytic and bronchodilator activity of 1-p-aminophenyl-2-s-butylaminoethanol have been pointed out.
