Spin Determinations in Low Lying States of 151Sm

Abstract

Gamma–gamma directional correlation measurements together with parity assignments based on the published literature have been used to make the following Jπ assignments in 151Sm: Jπ = 3/2+ for the 307, 345, 521, 741, 823, and 953 keV states, Jπ = 5/2+ for the 167, 396, and 446 keV states, and Jπ = 7/2+ for the 324 keV state. In addition, somewhat less secure assignments of 3/2, 7/2, 5/2+ (or 3/2+), and 5/2+ have been made to the 105, 209, 774, and 878 keV states respectively. The multipole mixing ratios of the 65, 66, 70, and 105 keV transitions are negative and the observed values of δ are compared with [Formula: see text] values obtained from L subshell conversion measurements.
