Abstract
The absorption of the β particles from tritium and from 187Re was found to obey an exponential law for a range of about 6 or 7 times the half-thicknesses. In helium the half-thicknesses of tritium and of 187Re are found to be 0.0460 ± 0.0007 and 0.0393 ± 0.0012 mg/cm2; in aluminum they are 0.0367 ± 0.0009 and 0.0336 ± 0.0013 mg/cm2, respectively.
