Abstract
Abstract
Uterine fibroids are benign tumors originating from the smooth muscle cells of the myometrium seen in approximately 20%–50% of women of reproductive age. The Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) binds to αvβ3 integrin expressed on the surface of angiogenic blood vessels or tumor cells. 18F-FDG PET/CT has been used to evaluate uterine fibroids, with moderate 18F-FDG uptake. However, angiogenesis imaging in uterine fibroids has not been evaluated. The present case presents a rare finding of RGD uptake in the uterine fibroid on 68Ga-DOTA-RGD-2 PET/CT in a patient who underwent angiogenesis imaging for left ankle joint pain and swelling.
