Abstract
This chapter considers the challenges for greater collaboration between actors operating within a career ecosystem. First, five challenges for university career advisors are presented, including: (i) resource constraints, (ii) range of employers, (iii) alignment of goals and objectives, (iv) league table rankings, and (v) recruitment agencies. Next, five challenges for graduate recruiters are considered, including: (i) resource constraints, (ii) targeting universities, (iii) cultural differences, (iv) compliance approval, and (v) evolving business demands. The challenges faced by five additional actors are then briefly considered, including (i) students, (ii) lecturers, (iii) alums, (iv) professional bodies, and (v) national governments. The chapter concludes with four lived experience insights offering real-world examples of the challenges for greater collaboration between actors.
