Abstract
This chapter presents digital twinning technology, integrating multi-disciplinary, multi-physical, multi-scale, and multi-probability simulation processes through physical models and sensors. It achieves complete mapping in virtual space, capturing the entire life cycle of corresponding entities. The study analyzes existing models in related fields, examining their uses and implementation methods. Applying digital twin technology to the power system, the chapter explores optimization design for the power grid, simulation of power grid faults, virtual power plants, intelligent equipment monitoring, and other services. The application scenario of power system digital twin (PSDT) is detailed. The chapter also explains the model structure of PSDT and the method of model reduction.
