Abstract
The internet of medical things (IoMT) has revolutionised modern healthcare. This is explored in detail in the chapter. The chapter examines how IoMT technologies are being applied in three critical areas—sleep monitoring, body movement detection, and rehabilitation evaluation—and how they may completely transform patient outcomes and treatment. The chapter gives an overview of IoMT in healthcare in the introduction, highlighting the value of body movement detection, sleep monitoring, and rehabilitation in improving patient well-being. The chapter also covers future trends, problems and potential roadblocks to IoMT adoption, and solutions to privacy and security issues. The chapter ends with a summary of the most important lessons learned, highlighting the revolutionary potential of IoMT in contemporary healthcare and urging more research into its possible uses.
