Abstract

The major purpose of this research study was to detect the role of play therapy on children with intellectual disabilities. In this research study, 24 children aged 8-123, facing mild or severe intellectual, participated. The research method employed was action research. The play therapy group sessions lasted for five months, with sessions held twice a week for 30-45 minutes each. The results indicated that students with mild or severe intellectual disabilities improved their self-confidence and social skills. Additionally, children with intellectual disabilities greatly enhanced their communication and behavior. Last but not least, they were happier and more autonomous and they improve their cooperation with their peers.
