Abstract
The chapter explores the provision of comprehensive sex education (CSE) and the antecedent challenges. A case of three states, namely Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, is undertaken, in order to illuminate the obstacles related to the implementation of this curriculum. The aims of comprehensive sexuality education are also explored in order to demonstrate the indispensable nature of this curriculum. CSE has faced resistance in many countries, due to the way it was implemented. The chapter argues for implementation of CSE curriculum, using Rogers's theory of diffusion of innovation (DIO), to overcome challenges related to the implementation of this indispensable curriculum for young people. The chapter is undergirded by the poststructural feminism, social cognitive and diffusion of innovation theories.
