Abstract

The growth of internet of things (IoT) devices across industries has brought advances but also revealed security risks and digital forensic challenges. This chapter examines IoT security threats, student understanding of them and their remedies, and IoT forensic examination issues. The research highlights the need for user training in IoT security, identifies prevalent dangers including malware and DDoS attacks, and highlights mitigation solutions through a synergistic literature analysis and comprehensive survey. It explores IoT forensics, its core processes, its crucial importance, and the many obstacles that hinder digital investigations in the IoT ecosystem. This chapter adds to the body of information on IoT device security, emphasizes user awareness, and highlights the challenges of IoT forensics.
