Abstract
Malnutrition is a world and public issue due to the interconnection of undernutrition and overnutrition among mothers and children. Coexistence of double burden of malnutrition is 6% among mother and child combination in India. Two issues that need to be taken into consideration by the government are undernourished children are prone to childhood mortality and morbidity. Educational awareness, healthy eating habits, initiation of health policies by the government, less consumption of processed foods, high energy diet can prevent the risk of double burden.
