Effect of high temperature annealing on hot workability of Co40CrNiMo elastic alloy

Abstract

Abstract The effect of high-temperature annealing on the hot workability of Co40CrNiMo elastic alloy was investigated using high-temperature thermal simulation testing. Hot compression tests were conducted on the Gleeble3800 thermo-simulation machine under conditions of 0.1~20/s and 950-1150°C. The flow curve was analyzed, and based on rheological data, the hot deformation constitutive formula and processing map were established. The results indicate that high-temperature annealing improves the resistance to hot working in Co40CrNiMo; the activation energy for hot deformation after annealing decreases from 462.78 kJ/mol to 396.70 kJ/mol, resulting in a significant increase in the hot working range, with an optimal thermal processing range between 975~1150°C and a deformation rate of 0.1~1/s.
