Abstract
Abstract
In this research, a numerical investigation is performed to simulate the fluid flow and the isotherms lines around three square cylinders placed side-by-side vertically and equally spaced in a bidimensionnel horizontal channel controlled by a flat plate at a fixed Reynolds number (Re = 100). The numerical approach used is the double multiple relaxation time of the lattice Boltzmann method (DMRT-LBM). The objective of the inclusion of the plate is to control the vortex shedding and improve the characteristics of the heat transfer around the squares cylinders. The numerical code is validated with the numerical and experimental results existing in the literature for flow past around a square cylinder with and without a control device. The impact of the length of a flat plate on the streamlines, the isotherms lines and the drag force are presented. The results obtained show the inclusion of the plate decreases the drag force and increases the thermal exchange.
