Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of using fish bone powder as a substitute for cement and its effect on concrete compressive strength and concrete porosity. Tests for compressive strength of concrete and porosity of concrete were carried out at the age of 28 days using variations of fishbone powder 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The results of testing the compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 consecutive days were 21,991 MPa, 16,220 MPa, 17,524 MPa, and 12,923 MPa. The largest concrete compressive strength value obtained was a variation of 5% fish bone powder, whereas the porosity values of concrete at 28 days were 11,164%, 12,429%, 11,545%, and 12,764%. Utilization of fish bone waste as a cement substitution can be done in a 5% mixture of fish bone waste. The resulting concrete compressive strength and porosity values are as planned.
