Abstract
Blends of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, NBR (-CN content 33%) and emulsion polymerized high styrene resin (styrene content 65%) abbreviated as HSR are being investigated for their physico-mechanical, oil resistant, antistatic properties. It is observed that hardness, modulus, tear strength, compression set, tension set, increases with increasing content of HSR. But tensile strength, elongation at break, abrasion loss, oil resistance, cycles to crack initiation, failure and propagation decreases with increasing content of HSR. Even though volume resistivity decreases with increasing content of HSR, the values are within antistatic range. Volume resistivity does not change appreciably even after aging and flexing.
